Provendium™ holds a Province's diary and its members' details, so it is built for the discretion Freemasonry expects. Privacy is designed in from the start, not added on afterwards.
The principles
How your data is protected.
Each Province kept separate
One Province's information is never visible to another. Separation is enforced in the system itself, at every layer, not left to a setting someone could forget.
Contact details encrypted
Sensitive personal details (email, telephone and the like) are encrypted, with each Province's data protected by its own key. They are never left sitting in plain text.
Members see only what they should
Public information stays public and private information stays private. What a person can see and do follows the role they hold, not a blanket setting.
Sign in without a password
Members sign in with a secure link sent to them, so there is no password to forget or reuse. Stronger sign-in, such as a passkey or an authenticator app, is available for those who administer a Province.
As little data as needed
Provendium keeps what a Province needs to run its diary and no more. Our own testing runs on anonymised data, so real contact details are only ever handled where they are genuinely in use.
Backed up and recoverable
Data is backed up so a Province's records can be restored. Recovery is practised, not assumed. A backup you have never restored is only a hope.
Held with care
A Province validates the system by recognising its own people and Lodges. That means real names may be used to set a Province up, but contact details such as email, telephone and dates of birth are protected throughout, and kept encrypted.

Common questions about data.
Who can see our Province's information?
Only people from your Province, and only what their role allows. No other Province can see your data, and a member sees the public diary plus whatever concerns them directly, not the whole administration.
Where is the data held?
Provendium runs on dedicated infrastructure with each Province's records isolated from every other. We are happy to set out the hosting arrangements in detail for a Province considering it.
Do you use real member data to test the system?
No. Our development and testing environments run on anonymised data (placeholder contact details rather than the real thing), so real personal information is only ever handled where a Province is genuinely using it.
What happens to our data if we stop using Provendium?
It remains your Province's data. We will return it and remove it on request. It is a good question to raise with us directly, and we will put the arrangements in writing.
